Senior Public Relations Account Executive

High Reason is hiring a Senior Public Relations Account Executive to serve in a key role on its growing communications team. We seek someone who is proactive, ambitious, passionate about helping clients achieve their goals, and will bring positivity, personality and energy to our team and their work.

The Senior PR Account Executive will report to the Vice President of Strategic Communications and will take a leadership role on many of the agency’s public relations accounts. The role is integrated in nature, as the individual will have the opportunity to work with several team members across every agency division.


  • Lead and manage client accounts with a public relations function, serving as a strategic advisor and executing the day-to-day program
  • Build and proactively execute annual strategic plans for clients
  • Develop relationships with key trade and other relevant media
  • Secure high-value media coverage on behalf of clients
  • Be proactive and creative by monitoring trends in client industries, developing new pitch angles (with or without editorial calendars) and providing clients with strategic recommendations
  • Draft client media and marketing materials such as FAQs, advisories, press releases, bylines and newsletters
  • Provide regular reporting and measurement for client programs
  • Help manage crisis communications issues
  • Support integrated accounts by demonstrating a baseline understanding of shared and owned media strategy—social media management experience is a plus
  • Support the agency’s place branding and marketing division through strategic plans, site visits, proactive public relations programs, crisis communications and more


  • Four-year undergraduate degree in communications or public relations
  • Four-to-six years of professional public and media relations experience; a plus if candidate offers experience in B2B, tech and/or healthcare
  • Agency experience is preferred but not required; we are seeking a candidate who has experience managing client relationships and working with teams
  • A solid track record of regularly placing high-value media coverage on behalf of clients
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Diligent, organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to adapt to fast-changing situations
  • Salary is dependent on skill and experience level
